Good news! Gmail gets “Undo Send’’, users can now recall mails

Any Gmail user, who regrets a message they just sent, has the option to undo the action, provided they are quick enough, a report said on Wednesday.

It added that the new “Undo Send’’ option allowed a message to be retrieved, so long as it is clicked upon within 30 seconds of the “Send’’ command being hit.

“The idea is to give users a second chance if they catch a mistake or realise they have sent a note to the wrong person.
“The function has, so far, only been available as an experimental feature.

“It is still not automatic, as availability has to be activated in the setting,’’ the report noted. “
However, it added that the users could opt for the “undo’’ function to work for between five and 30 seconds after the initial “send’’.

President Buhari’s Brother In Law Files Petition Against Sahara Reporters Over False N300M Arrest Story

A few days ago it was reported that the brother in law of President Buhari – Alhaji Musa Yola had been arrested on the orders of the President for charging an unnamed businessman N300M to secure an oil block. Yola who is the younger brother of Mrs. Aisha Buhari denied the story and the arrest, a claim which was backed up by the presidency via President Buhari’s spokesman Garba Shehu who called the report untrue.
Now word reaching to bloggers  reveals that Musa Yola through his lawyers is demanding Sahara Reporters retract the story and issue an apology over what they state is a false story. Sahara Reporters published the story as an exclusive on June 28.
A letter from his lawyers, Mabvocate Law House based in the FCT, has been leaked – see it above and it’s conclusion after the break.
Failing that Sahara Reporters does what Yola has demanded, the online news publication will be sued

221 People Have Been Killed Since Buhari Became President

The APC in-fighting is the current national talking point, but Boko Haram insurgents should be dominating the headlines. Just when Nigerians are about to say it is over, the insurgents seem to be saying “you ain’t seen nothing yet”.

Between May 29, 2015, when President Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in, and June 24, at least 221 lives have been lost in Boko Haram attacks, concentrated on Borno and Yobe states.

This time around, the attacks have not been territorial — a battle the Nigerian military seemed to have won convincingly — but asymmetrical. The days of ground and aerial battles aimed at dislodging the insurgents from their camps may be over, but the suicide bombings are far from vanishing. But observers would even be more worried that the government currently says nothing about these attacks — unlike in the past when statements came from the president’s office to express sympathy with victims and re-assure Nigerians that things would soon be under control.
Is the war on terror collapsing? The general election which was scheduled to take place on February 14 was shifted to March 28; that is, by six weeks. The reason for the delay, according to the past government of Goodluck Jonathan, was to give the military additional time to subdue insurgents who were on an obsequious quest of churning up human carnage in the northeast of the country.

True to the excuse for delaying the election, the Nigeria military managed to “cut the Boko Haram insurgents to size”. As a matter of fact, the military freed the northeast states of Yobe, Adamawa and Borno from the throttling hegemony of Boko Haram. Not that the military totally expelled the insurgents from this region, but they wrested control from them.

Boko Haram had controlled a swathe of land the size of Belgium before the military’s offensive. And even Gwoza, the caliphate of the sect was retaken. And in a push to flush out the insurgents from their last fort, the Nigerian military invaded Sambisa forest, stoning it with bombs and piercing it with artillery. It captured one the sect’s commanders, and recovered military hardware and software.

Abubakar Shekau, Boko Haram’s leader, was sent into hiding (is he still alive?) for he has not been seen in propaganda videos issuing his accustomed threats since the military’s offensive. The effort of the military in this stead, no doubt, mitigated the frequency of attacks, most especially suicide bombings, and Nigerians were in agreement that the Nigerian military was asphyxiating Boko Haram and its networks.

AND BOKO HARAM “ROSE FROM THE ASHES”

However, not long after the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari on May 29, Boko Haram struck reminding the president that it was still “alive and well.” Seven people were reported killed by twin explosions at a village wedding in Borno on the same day.

On May 30, a day after Buhari’s inauguration, a suicide bomber struck at a mosque in Maiduguri during the afternoon prayer session killing at least 16 people.

On the same day, suspected Boko Haram insurgents fired rocket propelled grenades into Dala Lawanti, west of the city, killing about 13 people. Boko Haram’s archipelago of atrocities continued into the second week of Buhari’s government.

At 1pm, on June 2, an improvised explosive device (IED) concealed in a butcher’s table detonated killing about 30 people at a busy meat market in Maiduguri. Not fazed, the sect struck again the next day, June 3. An IED, the accustomed death device of the insurgents, detonated killing a few people at a military check-point in Baga, Borno state. And on June 4, a suicide bomber hit Jimeta main market in Yola, Adamawa state, killing at least 10 innocents.

On June 7, the intensity of Boko Haram’s attacks ossified as it unleashed another blood-shiver on a popular “cow market” in Maiduguri, killing an unspecified number of people. However, in a failed mission on June 11, three female suicide bombers prancing to carry out attacks in Bauchi died by the device of their own hands. Explosives strapped on their bodies detonated prematurely on a highway leading to the city before they could reach their target. That however adds to the series of attacks by Boko Haram since the dawning of the Buhari government.

On June 15, multiple blasts killed about 10 people at Potiskum in Yobe state, mostly police officers and members of the local vigilante group, who were trying to stop man carrying an IED and heading for the Potiskum market. After a few days’ hiatus, Boko Haram struck at a fish market on June 22. This time, two female suicide bombers disguised as beggars detonated their explosive-laden bodies at the market about 4pm, killing at least 30 people. And on June 23, a suicide bomber killed about 10 people at a market at Wagir in Gubja local government of Yobe state.

On June 24, 40 persons were killed in a raid on Borno villages by the insurgents. As at last count, 221 persons have died in Boko Haram attacks since May 29. Expectedly, ending the insurgency has become the focus of the Buhari government, but as of now it appears there is nothing stopping the bombs from “booming”.

Housewife Set Elite Online Forum Ablaze With Tales Of Her Husband’s Cheating

So there’s this online forum called NappyValleyNet.com. It is well loved by young, rich mothers from South-West London’s most fashionable areas…think stepford wives.
Usually, what goes on there are yummy mummies chatting politely about au pairs, Pilates and private schools. So you can imagine how this gist that came up arrived like a bolt from the blue.
Suddenly, here was a wife telling the world how she found her husband had cheated on her with an escort.SEX-DECENT
She had confronted him after seeing a minicab receipt for a late-night trip to a ‘random, scuzzy’ address, which cab booking firm Uber had emailed to him. The mother-of-two revealed her anguish as she pleaded for advice on the online forum.
In a post that no doubt had readers choking on their focaccia, she said her husband had admitted receiving a ‘massage’, which she described in unstinting detail as a particularly intimate type.
But at least he said ‘nothing else happened and that’s he’s truly sorry’, wrote the shocked woman, known only by her username ‘upsetandconfused’.
‘I had thought our marriage was going well and although we have sex less often since the birth of our babies, he and I are still affectionate and intimate,’ she wrote.
‘Although he insists they did not have full-blown sex, why should I believe that and what on earth do I do when I also have our two children under 2 to think about?’
Helpful advice swiftly poured in as her post soared to the top of the website’s ‘most read’ list…
‘Are you sure it was a woman he was visiting?’, less so.
A rare male user of the website suggested the wife should get her own back and try one of the ‘well-trained, oiled hunks offering Tantric services to ladies’.
‘Upsetandconfused’ made a second post less than 24 hours later in which she said her husband had since confessed the massage included the escort performing a sex act on him. He said it was the first time he had cheated and still insisted he did not have ‘full sex’.
But ‘upsetandconfused’ was now ‘more angry’ and no longer believed a word he said because he had ‘categorically lied to my face about things until he has had to come clean when I produce evidence (Uber receipt to random scuzzy area of London etc)’.
Uber is a smartphone app service which allows users to hail a cab. Once they arrive at the destination, the fare can be automatically charged to their credit card on file, and a receipt is emailed.
Despite the betrayal, the wronged wife took some comfort from her husband’s indiscretion being ‘just about sex’ rather than him having an ‘emotional connection’. But she still could not understand why he would ‘jeopardise his marriage, home and full-time access to his two gorgeous babies for some stupid sexual thing’.
And how did the drama end? She declared she did not think she would end the marriage because it was not ‘fair to deny our children their dad because he couldn’t keep his **** in his pants’.
She added: ‘I still really do love him even though I have lost trust and respect.’

Okonjo-Iweala Denies allegation over unauthorised Spending

2108F03.Okonjo-Iweala.jpg-2108F03.Okonjo-Iweala.jpg
The former Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has dismissed the allegation made by the state governors that she spent $2.1 billion from the Excess Crude Account (ECA) meant for the three tiers of government without the authorisation of the National Economic Council (NEC).

Emerging from the inaugural meeting of the council under the Buhari administration on Monday, Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole, who has had a running battle with the former minister over the management of the economy and in particular the ECA, alleged that the account had $4.1 billion in November 2014, but now has a balance of $2 billion.

He categorically accused Okonjo-Iweala of spending the difference without the authorisation of NEC.
But in a statement yesterday, her media adviser Paul Nwabuikwu said: “The allegation by some governors that former Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, spent $2.1 billion out of the Excess Crude Account ‘without authorisation’ is false, malicious and totally without foundation.

“We want to state categorically that no unauthorised expenditure from the ECA was made under Okonjo-Iweala’s watch in the Finance Ministry.

“Decisions on such expenditure were discussed at meetings of the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) attended by finance commissioners from the 36 states.”

Nwabuikwu found it curious that in the governors’ desperation to use the esteemed NEC for political and personal vendetta, “the persons behind these allegations acted as if the constitutionally recognised FAAC, a potent expression of Nigeria’s fiscal federalism, does not exist”.

“But Nigerians know that collective revenues, allocations and expenditures of the three tiers of government are the concern of the monthly FAAC meetings.
“It is important to acknowledge the efforts of governors who are working hard to overcome the current revenue challenges facing their states without resorting to character assassination and the blame game,” he added.

Nwabuikwu stressed that the former minister was ready and willing to respond to legitimate enquiries about issues under her purview as Finance Minister, adding however, that “it is clear that this is the latest chapter of a political witch-hunt by elements who are attempting to use the respected National Economic Council for ignoble purposes having failed abysmally in their previous attempts to tar the Okonjo-Iweala name”.

He recalled that one of such attempts took place in May when some of these governors, hiding under the auspices of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) asked Okonjo-Iweala to explain the $20 billion alleged to be missing from the same ECA.
“The Finance Ministry subsequently issued a news release and published an advertorial in national newspapers on May 25, 2015 giving details of what the federal government and states received from the ECA in the last four years.

“It also provided details of the use of the funds for payment of petrol subsidies for the Nigerian public and SURE-P allocations to the three tiers of government for development purposes.

“After the publication, the accusers lost their voice. But the latest allegations show that these persons are still in the business of throwing up wild, unsubstantiated figures to damage Okonjo-Iweala’s name,” the media aide said.

Without mincing words, he noted that “within the last few months, Governor Oshiomhole and his fellow travellers have asked Okonjo-Iweala to account for ‘missing” $30 billion, $20 billion and now $2.1 billion”.

“What they don’t seem to understand is that the strategy has lost all credibility because the falsehood is clear for all to see.
“How can some governors who fought the federal government’s efforts to leave robust savings in the ECA and even took the federal government to court over the matter turn around to make such unfounded allegations?

“The world knows that it was Okonjo-Iweala who pioneered, during her first stint as Minister of Finance in the Obasanjo administration, the practice of publishing monthly updates of all allocations to the different tiers of government in order to empower Nigerians with information and knowledge of government revenues and expenditure.
“This enabled the Nigerian public to ask questions about the utilisation of these resources. Of course many elected and appointed public officials were not happy with this development.

“She continued this practice when she returned in 2011 and even added periodic updates on the Excess Crude Account, subsidy payments for verified claims by oil marketers for fuel imports as well as SURE-P payments to the three tiers of government.
“Against this background, the idea that she spent $2.1 billion ‘without authorisation’ is simply not credible given that details of government receipts and expenditure are public knowledge.

“We believe that Nigerians are too smart to be hoodwinked by this partisan desperation to tar the name of Okonjo-Iweala.
“In the interest of the country, we advise that public officials should avoid the temptation to politicise economic issues so that balanced analysis can lead to real solutions,” he counselled.

Phone conversation between Toke Makinwa and Encomium reporter on troubled marriage

toke makinwa wedding photoslindaikejiblog14
Throughout last week, the internet was agog with the news of Toke Makinwa’s husband, Maje Ayida with the news of not only impregnating his ex-girlfriend, Anita Solomon but also the fact that the said Anita had gone abroad to deliver the baby.
When ENCOMIUM Weekly called Mrs. Toke Makinwa-Ayida on Monday, June 22, 2015, this was what she said:

Toke: Hello
Toke Makinwa
ENCOMIUM Weekly: Good morning….
Toke: Okay, what can I do for you?
ENCOMIUM Weekly: Am I speaking with Mrs. Toke Makinwa-Ayida?
Toke: Yes, you are. What can I do for you?
ENCOMIUM Weekly: You probably know why I am calling you. It is about the story of your (she didn’t allow us to finish the statement).
Toke: (cuts in) I don’t have any comment, I don’t have any comment.
Mrs. Toke Makinwa-Ayida has probably gotten over the shock and trauma the news of her husband’s rumoured infidelity must have caused her, because when we called her the previous week (on Monday, June 15, 2015), she didn’t wait for us to ask any question. The moment she heard from ENCOMIUM Weekly, she switched off.
Toke’s comment on her Vlog on youtube on Thursday, June 18 indicates that she has come to live with the reality of her situation in her marital life.

In her words on the Vlog she said, “This has been a very, very, very crazy week. The purpose is not really about me. I am not one who enjoys talking about myself…I just want to talk about other issues.”
Her topic for the day was also suspicious. It was about those going through crises in their relationships.

She went on to advise women to stop taking blames for the misdemeanour of their spouses or boyfriends. She also admonished people generally for being judgmental and blaming women for the atrocities committed by their husbands or boyfriends.

She cited the ease of a woman that wrote her that she was blamed that her husband impregnated her cousin.
“How dare you blame her?”
“Was she the one that put his thing into her private part?” She also admonished women to stop living in self denial.
According to her, “A lot of people need to stop living in denial. The first thing you need to do is to accept the situation.
“It is not about you, stop blaming yourself.”
She went on to advice women in relationships to take the situation in their strides and move on.
In her words, “The sun will definitely shine again because it will always do. For every whao, there is a bigger whao. For every fish, there is a bigger fish. For every scandal, there is a bigger scandal.”
She finally stretched her hand to all women in relationship crisis as a hand of fellowship-meaning we are in it together.
One thing that was conspicuous on the Vlog is the missing marriage picture of Toke Makinwa and Maje Ayida.
Maje and Anita
Maje and Anita
Toke Makinwa and Maje Ayida get married in January 2014 after their off and on relationship that spans 12 years.
Anita Solomon, the woman that is alleged to be pregnant for Maje Ayida, is also said to have been in relationship with him for eight years.
In fact, someone wrote this on the blogs on internet, “Toke can lie for Africa. Before I write my own, let me say Maje Ayida is a woman wrapper from time!!! Whether Toke stays at home or is a career woman, he was going to cheat no matter what!!! But Toke, was Anita a stalker? Was Erica a stalker?
“Were you not the side chick when he was formally dating those ladies? Who chased them away from Maje so there would be space for you? Was it not you and your Bacchus friends? Sending them anonymous emails, text messages and phone calls?
“Harassing them in clubs, spilling drinks on them, all sorts of childish things to let them know you were in side chick then? Na lie?
“Maje was dating Anita, you (Toke) was seeing him on the side in those days of Bacchus, same with Erica Coswoth. Did you really think after you managed to chase them that you will have peace in that marriage?
“He cheated on them with you. So, of course, he will cheat on you too.
“Karma is a bitch. Anyway, as for Maje, yes, we all know you didn’t really want to marry Toke. I mean, even up a few days to your wedding, you were asking your friends if you should marry her…(smh)! But nobody forced you to go to the registration office without your family’s consent. So as you make your bed you must lie on it and make it work out with Toke.
“Anita, I wish you safe delivery because your baby is innocent in all of this. I know Toke made your life a living hell while you and Maje were dating.
“Maje, go and settle with your wife. Make it up with her. Toke, it is well after all you got what you wanted nah – Mrs. Ayida.
“But sarcasm aside, keep your head up. This will soon be stake gist. But you Toke Makinwa knew, he will always love Anita. So, if you are wise cut your lesses now.”

Heathrow Airport To Be Expanded, 800 Houses To Go

Heathrow airport is said to undergo a £19b expansion plan. This is needed for a 3rdrunway at one of the busiest airports in Europe, a total of about 800 homes would also be demolished . the runway is the first new runway to be built in the South-East of England since the 1940s.

Notable ministers have concluded that the expansion is needed to keep London in connection to the rest of the world and keep Britain in competition with other global markets.

The airport authorities have earmarked about £1b as compensation to affected communities and individuals. There are also plans to reduce noise pollutions as the airport currently accommodates about 220,000 flights a year. At the completion of the runway they would have generated an additional 77,000 jobs.

Kim Kardashian  was at the prestigious San Francisco Commonwealth Club to talk about her famous family, her new book Selfie and the objectification of women in media.
While many felt it was a let down to have her speak at such a respected forum,Judge LaDoris Cordell, the woman who hosted the chat, says:
"I don't see her as beneath anyone, I believe she has something to say."
Kim talked about Kanye and how most of her recent ventures which rake in big bucks were created by him..They don't call him a genius for nothing...
On Kanye, she said

"I love the way he creates, thinks, stands up for what he believes in whole-heartedly. He is such a good person."I have gotten a lot of my confidence from him, I used to care so much about what people thought of me. He has taught me to not care, he is such an honest person."
On her book Selfish
Just like her groundbreaking game app,Kim admits her book,Selfish was hubby Kanye's idea.
He even came up with the title,I took his advice,"
On Being Private
"I used to film everything but now I've stopped doing that.I don't always share birthdays and I have time with my daughter when she has her breakfast.I'm a workaholic but I make time for my daughter."
Asked if she would do her Paper magazine shoot over again, she said
Absolutely!"I always learn from my mistakes but something like a photo
shoot, I never regret. I would so do them over."Something like the Paper magazine, I loved that shoot. It was so empowering to me, I was trying to get pregnant, I had put on so much weight but it was my, 'I'm confident again.'"
On Caitlyn
"We go to group therapy together. Caitlyn has taught me to be less judgemental. I'm just so happy that people have been so open to this change."
On her insecurities
I remember my sister Kourtney wasn't developing and I was. I used to sit in the bath tub and pray I wouldn't develop anymore.
"She would snap my bra strap and I was insecure in developing and then when I was leaving 8th grade my dad wrote me a letter and told me that I had been blessed with a certain body type but some men might take advantage of that but he wanted me to love my body."
