Yemi Alade Says She Would Consider Dating Phyno

Singing diva Yemi Alade has declared that she is open to the idea of dating Phyno.
Responding to the question from Twitter user @prolificJack, “Would you ever consider dating Phyno if he asked you to be his girl?” she replied, “Well, as the mama tangerine, if the household tangerine would love that, then yes I would.”

It will be recalled that she has been rumoured to be romantically linked to the rapper, and this disclosure will no doubt add to the speculation around their alleged relationship.

Osas Ighodaro and Gbenro Ajibade‘s traditional wedding is taking place in Benin City, Edo State, tomorrow – Saturday June 20, 2015.

The Lagos State Government has made its intention known that Okada riders will from now hence forth stop plying major roads in the State. While speaking yesterday, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Oluseyi Coker had noted that the riders were restricted from 475 routes out of the 9,100 roads in Lagos in 2012 but they soon came back.

He says the fresh restriction is a renewed attempt to check their excesses. He also frowned at the rate the riders have been flouting the traffic law of the state, saying that government would no longer fold its hands and allow the impunity to continue.

He further explained that the ban would benefit citizens, stating that since it was banned in 2012 the state has witnessed over 81% reduction in the number of motorcycle-related accidents and over 80% reduction in motorcycle-related deaths reported at public hospitals.

No nonsense Governor, Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has explained why he applied for a N10bn loan in less than a month in office. The Governor sated the reasons yesterday at the Government House shortly after signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Messrs Julius Berger PLC and CCECC Nigeria Limited to rehabilitate roads in the state.

I am poised to complete all the important ongoing projects in the state, he said, on why he applied for the loan.

The Law Faculty Building in the State University of Science and Technology, the renovation of the judiciary complex and the Rivera State House of Assembly buildings which are all derelict as a result of the their closure for almost two years by Rotimi Amaechi, will be used to complete the projects, he explained. He also noted that he will be completing the Akpajo/Woji Bypass, the Eagle Island link Road and the Rivers Mall started by Sir Celestine Omehia.

“There is no need frittering away resources by abandoning projects. Government is a continuum”, Wike stated.

A suspected trader in illegal wine, Alfred Omeke, who was apprehended by operatives of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, says he has sold the product for more than four years.

According to PUNCH Metro, 40-year-old Omeke from the Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State, was nabbed on Sunday, June 14, while allegedly loading cartons of the unregistered wine into a truck in the Trade Fair, Ojo area of Lagos.

Our correspondent gathered that a team of enforcement officers from NAFDAC, while on a patrol, intercepted the truck and found the illegal wine.

The agency said the importer of the products used an official government number plate, RV885 FZE, assigned to the Oil and Gas Free Zone Authority, to deceive security operatives.

Speaking with PUNCH Metro, Omeke said it was not his duty to ensure the wine was registered, adding that he had been in the business for more than four years.

“I am a trader and I am not based in Lagos. I only come to pack my goods from here. I did not know that selling unregistered wine is an offence. I am not the importer of the products.

“It is true that the wine does not have NAFDAC registration number, but my buyers do not complain. I have been selling the wine for more than four years. I cannot estimate my sales from the products. Since this trouble started, my business has gone down.

“I do not have a cartel. I buy and sell alone. I have handed the products over to NAFDAC operatives. They are all imported, but they are not registered. It is the responsibility of the importer, not me, to register them.“I have my stores in Aba, Abia State.“I came to the Trade Fair area of Lagos last week Sunday to load my goods, and it was there that I was arrested.”

Our correspondent learnt that apart from the unregistered wine, the agency also seized 55 cartons of expired yoghurt in the FESTAC Town area. The suspects were reportedly assisting investigators on the source of the product.

The yoghurt, it was learnt, expired in March 2015, but the suspects allegedly altered the date to March 2016, and continued to sell the product to unsuspecting consumers.

Despite controversy surrounding the declaration of their assets, the Code of Conduct Bureau will not make public the details of assets declared by President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo due to limitations in federal laws covering such release, the office has said.

According to Premuim Times,despite his promise to declare , the president has yet to publicly declare his assets three weeks after taking office. His office said those details will be made available after the Code of Conduct Bureau authenticates claims in the declaration forms.

A civil society group, Stop Impunity Nigeria, an affiliate of the Centre for Social Justice, had on June 1, 2015 applied to the CCB to request copies of the completed assets declaration forms by the President and his deputy.

But, in its response CCB/HQ/670/G/1/104 dated June 10, 2015 and signed by Ijeanuli Ofor on behalf of the Chairman, the CCB declined the request, citing the absence of prescribed law by the National Assembly authorizing the release of such information to the public.

The Bureau, in its response, made available to PREMIUM TIMES, conceded the right by Nigerians under section 1(1) 3 and 4 of the FOIA 2011, to “access or request information, whether written or not in written form, in the custody of any public agency”.

Regardless, the Bureau said sections 12(1) (a) (v), 14(1) (b) and 15(1)9a) of the same Act empowered it to decline any request, which it considered an “invasion of personal privacy”.
“Assets declarations by public officers contain such personal information, which falls within the exemptions to the disclosure of information in the FOIA,” the Bureau said.

How did you meet your man?
I met Toyosi at a church fellowship group. He was invited by a mutual friend, and I was the assistant leader of the group. I spoke with him, like I speak with everyone. I didn’t think anything about it. That same week, I saw him again at a house warming party, and it was at this event that sparks started flying.

What was your love life like before you met?
I was the type of girl that always had a guy that I was “talking to” but no one who wanted to settle down. None of them wanted to be my boyfriend! There was a lot of hanging out with guys my age, so I decided to date older men. I met a lot of quality guys but none that were ready to commit. Many of the guys that I was attracted had commitment issues, but sure enough, my boo came along to rescue me from myself.

Was it love at first sight?
It was more like love at second sight. The first time meeting him, I did not consider him as a possibility and the conversation wasn’t great at all. But during our second go around, I was captivated by our conversation. He kept me smiling and laughing. I was thinking to myself that I met the man of my dreams.

Sweetest thing he has ever done?
He is constantly doing sweet things for me. But recently, on my birthday, he woke me up singing and blowing bubbles. He danced and sang for a solid three minutes. He made me join him in the chaos, and I am glad I did. After the singing and dancing was over, he handed me flowers, a card, cake and money to buy my dream wedding shoes. I am so in love with this man!

How long did you date before you got engaged?
Exactly four months.

Most romantic date ever?
The night that he proposed was the most romantic date ever! He took me to a restaurant called Spindle Top. The restaurant spins as you are eating and the place lights up with the city lights. It was very beautiful!

A stowaway was found dead on an office block roof after plunging from a British Airways jet as it approached Heathrow Airport.

The man's body was discovered on top of the offices of a retail company,in Richmond,South West London.

According to the Sun,his companion survived the 8,000 mile flight from South Africa by holding on to the undercarriage of a British Airways Boeing 747 before being taken to hospital where he is said to be in a stable condition.He is believed to have either grabbed hold of a wheel before the aircraft took off on its 11-hour flight or clambered in to a luggage store.

11 kid robbers arrested in Ibadan,Oyo state are to be rehabilitated.They were arrested on June 15.The Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Katsina, told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan

Some of the kid robbers, aged between 12 and 14, conspired and invaded a house around the Challenge Area of Ibadan, where they stole the sum of N11,000.

“Based on information, the Anti-Robbery Squad of the command was sent out immediately and they were surprised to see kids of 12 and 14 years of age coming out to make confessional statements,” he said.

Katsina, who also expressed pity on the plight of the kids, explained that they voluntarily narrated to the police details about their activities. He lamented that the involvement of the kids in robbery activities could be attributed to lack of parental care and poverty.

“Most of these children are from broken homes and I wish parents can learn from the plight of these kids and take proper care of their children.

“One thing that keeps disturbing me is the voluntary narration and sincerity of the kids. They have no shelter of any sort and to them, their future starts and ends on the bridge. “Their only means of livelihood is to savage innocent members of the public, be involved in pick pocketing, robbery and related criminal activities,” he said. Katsina noted that 90 per cent of the kids arrested were not residents or indigenes of Oyo State.

“Some of them are from Benin Republic in search of greener pastures in Nigeria, in a negative way,” he said. The police boss disclosed that one of the 11 kid robbers, a 12-year-old boy, was apprehended in Ogbomoso in a robbery-related conduct.

“In the course of the arrest, he led us to six other members of his group, where four of them were minors and the two others adults. “The boy is from Kwara State, as we got to know from his confession. He confessed that his father was living happily with his mother until he married a second wife.

“As a result of that, there was a problem and the mother moved out with the kid robber and relocated to Ogbomoso,” he said. Katsina, however, added that the command was currently taking care of the 11 arrested minors. He also said that Governor Abiola Ajimobi had promised to assist in the rehabilitation and provision of adequate care for the kids.

“When I spoke with him, he said that there were rehabilitation centres in Ibadan, where the kids would be provided with basic care amenities. The governor also said that the state government would assist to provide job opportunities for unemployed youths in the state at the newly-inaugurated Waste-to-Energy projects.” The Oyo police boss, however, called on parents and the governments of the neighbouring countries to monitor the activities of their children and wards, while admonishing Nigerians and philanthropists to assist them.

A girl of about 18 years has killed her mother in Rumuchakara village in Choba community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Choba community, one of the communities that plays host to the University of Port Harcourt (Uniport) witnessed rowdiness after a young girl allegedly killed her mother with a plank.

A source that is privy to the family said that disagreement had ensued between the young lady whose name withheld and her late mother on Wednesday evening after the mother had asked her to go and prepare the night meal.

The source said that the young girl protested that she would not cook and that made her mother to slap her. Vanguard gathered that after her mother slapped her for refusing to cook that the little girl picked up a plank and smashed her mother’s head.

Vanguard also gathered that every efforts made to save the

life of the woman from the fatal injury she sustained did not yield positively.

The source revealed that the whereabouts of the girl is yet to be known since the news of her mother’s death broke up, Thursday. But the leaders of the community have passed a decree that the young girl should not return to the community anymore.

As at the time of this report the police are yet to comment on it.

Seun Kuti has hit out at younger African musicians for showing off their wealth. In an interview with BBC Artbeat Africa he said “the music does not represent the people”.

The son of Afrobeat king, Fela Kuti said he thinks the new African mindset has to transcend these “superficial identities that they impose on themselves. We cannot be telling people how big our cars are, how big our houses are, and degrading our women on music videos" he said.

Facts have emerged showing why Senate President Bukola Saraki led a delegation of Senators to meet former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his hilltop mansion, Abeokuta, Ogun State today, Premium Times reports.

The news house says Mr. Saraki lamented that although the party leaders have stated that they have accepted his emergence, there was “complete communication breakdown between him, the president and the party”.

The national chairman of the APC, John Oyegun, had abruptly cancelled a scheduled meeting with Mr. Saraki last week without giving another appointment. They also gathered that Mr. Saraki had tried severally to meet with the president after his emergence, but was always denied audience.

The two women above were yesterday caught at the popular Onitsha market as they made to go away with two bales of clothes from the popular market. They were asked to undress and carry the bales on their heads as boys matched them round the market several times. More photos below.

On my way to Port Harcourt City through Ogoni this morning I saw this scene. 3cars collided and an explosion has left this young man burnt and dead.

The fire on the vehicles is still fresh and from observation along the road it appears they were reversing to escape an arm robbery ambush as I noticed logs and fresh leaves on the road (typical of a robbery ambush on this Ikot Abasi - Phc Road).

I may be the first to post this because its like everybody is just driving by so please help me post it on the front page because a wife and children or some families will be home waiting for the husband, father, brother, fiance not knowing they had been burnt trying to come home very early today.
