Hollywood power couple, Jennifer Lopez visited her hubby Ben Affleck on set while filming. The actress stopped by the Santa Monica, California, set of Affleck's upcoming sports drama about Nike's journey to securing its blockbuster deal with Michael Jordan.

In addition to directing the movie, Affleck is also starring alongside Matt Damon, with whom he also co-wrote the screenplay. During her set visit, Lopez, 52, gave Affleck, 49, a kiss between takes while he held a pen and paper. 

She recently praised Affleck on Father's Day over the weekend.

She wrote to him: "Happy Father's Day to the most caring, loving, affectionate, consistent and selfless Daddy ever."

Google Photo App Labels Black Couple As ‘Gorillas’

An artificial intelligence software by Google has mistakenly described African-American computer programmer Jacky Alcine and his friend as “GORILLAS.”

On Monday, Mr Alcine, of Brooklyn, New York, spotted the egregious blunder.

In a series of tweets to Google, he said:

“Google Photos, y’all f***** up. My friend’s not a gorilla.”

He added: “The only thing under this tag is my friend and I being tagged as a gorilla.”

Mr Alcine also remarked: “What kind of sample image data you collected that would result in this son?”He received a response from Google’s chief social architect Yonatan Zunger later that day, who rendered a heartfelt apology on behalf of the organization.

“This is 100 percent not okay,” said Mr Zunger, promising a fix later that evening.

Google said in a statement:

“We’re appalled and genuinely sorry that this happened.

We are taking immediate action to prevent this type of result from appearing.

There is still clearly a lot of work to do with automatic image labeling, and we’re looking at how we can prevent these types of mistakes from happening in the future.”

The Google Photos application, launched in May, uses an automatic tagging tool to help organise uploaded images and make searching easier.

One person on Twitter dubbed it “the first instance of A.I. racism”.

Cultist Burn Community Over Beer Parlour Disagreement

A beer parlour disagreement has resulted into a communal crisis at Umuobi Ikwerede in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo state following dangerous activities of rival cult groups in the area.

A man simply known as Abacha, was killed on Sunday by a rival group, whole several houses and personal effects have either been burnt, destroyed or looted  by anotherr cult group said to be on a revenge mission.

An eye witness report says, “ all I can recall now, is that a group of boys came into a beer parlour in the village and were enjoying themselves. Their presence did not spark off any suspicion, but not long after, an argument ensued and sadly degenerated into a fight.”

The eye witness continued saying that before people at the scene could decipher what was really the issue, one of the cultist stabbed on Abacha with a broken bottle which led to his death. As the news of Abacha death spread like wildfire in the area, his own group quickly mobilized and unleashed terror and mayhem in the town burning houses and destroying property.

118 Survives As Boat Capsizes in Philippines

A 27 metres long boat was barely 200 metres from the shoreline when it capsized in Philippines according to CNN.

A boat carrying 173 passengers has capsized in the central Philippines, minutes after leaving port.the local Coast Guard reported that at least 36 people have died, with 118 survivors and 19 people still missing.

The MB Nirvana had just departed Ormoc City, Leyte Province bound for Pilar town on Camotes island at around 12 p.m. local time Thursday when the disaster occurred.

The boat is said to have overturned because of high winds according to Philippine National Red Cross Chairman, Richard Gordon.

El Rufai Sues The Union Newspapers over wrong allegation

According to reports making rounds this morning , that Kaduna state governor mallam Nasir El Rufai had declared his asset worth N90 billion, the embattled governor have taken legal action against The Union newspapers which allegedly published it first.

In a statement released by the special adviser (media) to the embattled governor, Samuel Aruwan, owners of the publication would be taken to court. The statement reads; After a busy few weeks as governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai is dismayed by the blatant falsehood being practised as journalism by The Union newspapers. He has consequently directed his legal team to vigorously enforce his rights to protect his reputation from the vandalism of irresponsible hacks.

Ex-Benue governor Suswam reportedly arrested by UK police for assualting wife

According to new reports, the former governor of Benue State Mr. Gabriel Suswam was last week arrested in London for battery charges. He was reportedly booked by Metropolitan Police Domestic Violence Officers for several hours and was only released after paying a £5000 bail bound

His arrest came after Police received a distressed 999 call from his wife Yemisi the former first lady of Benue state.

She told a dispatcher over the phone that she feared for her life after being physically assaulted by her husband over a heated argument relating to Suswam's mistress Shidoo.Suswam reportedly hit Yemisi severally and inflicted injuries on her...Suswam faces a prison term not exceeding six months.

It is claimed Shidoo has a child for the governor and works at NAFDAC..British police are said tobe pressing the former first lady to file battery charges against her husband ..

EKWEREMADU TO APC: LEAVE ME ALONE

Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, yesterday, called on leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to leave members of the National Assembly and face governance challenges staring it in the face.
He said rather than wasting time on who occupies what position in the National Assembly, the APC-led government should initiate policies that would better the lives of Nigerians.
Since his emergence as deputy Senate president on June 9, Ekweremadu, a member of the minority Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been criticised by some APC senators, who argued that his election was in breach of rules of the Senate.
But Ekweremadu, who spoke during a courtesy call by the Coalition of Election Observers, said his election was in accordance with the Standing Order of the Senate.
He said senators would not be distracted by any outside influence, hinting that the 8th Senate would come up with legislations that would benefit Nigerians, including an amendment of the Electoral Act for more credible elections in 2019.
He said: “We are about to form legislative agenda for the 8th Senate. This will include electoral reforms.”
Leader of the coalition, Nwambu Gabriel, said that Ekweremadu’s emergence as deputy Senate president in an APC-dominated Senate was an indication that Nigeria’s democracy was growing.
He said there was nothing wrong in having Ekweremadu as deputy Senate president because that has been the practice in developed democracies.

AU Commission Appoints First Woman Secretary General

African Union Commission Chairperson Nkosazana Zuma, has appointed outgoing Secretary General of the commission, Amb. Jean Mfasoni, Special Advisor in her Office as from 1 July 2015.
Djeneba Diarra was the first woman to occupy the position
The Chairperson’s Office announced in Dar es Salaam on Thursday that Mfasoni retired on Tuesday after 35 years of service to both the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) and its successor, the African Union (AU).
The new Secretary General of the AU Commission is a Malian national.
Prior to her appointment, she was Deputy Legal Counsel (2004-2014) of the commission and served as Acting Legal Counsel from July 2012 to December 2013.
Diarra was also Acting Executive Secretary of the AU Advisory Board on the Fight against Corruption (March 2014-March 2015) based at the secretariat in Arusha, Tanzania, the unique continental organisation mandated by the AU to deal with corruption and other related matters in Africa.
Diarra joined the OAU in 1996 as Legal Officer, a position that enabled her to gather enormous experience in the drafting of legal instruments governing the AU. (PANA/NAN)

While growing up in the UK, Harnaam Kaur was teased relentlessly from nursery right through to high school for having facial hair.

Kaur suffers from polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a condition in which an imbalance in hormones causes excess hair growth (affecting approximately one in 10 pre-menopausal women around the world).

As a result, she started growing a beard when she was 11.

She was bullied as a child because of her facial hair and at one point attempted to take her life.

Now she is 24.

 24-year-old Harnaam has since embraced her body hair sporting a full beard and letting nature take its course.

She decided enough was enough and embraced herself, imperfection and all. Most people find her confidence inspiring while others want it shaved.

PDP rejects Zakari as Acting INEC chair

 The appointment of Mrs. Amina Zakari as the Acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday approved Mrs Zakari’s appointment in acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive chairman for the commission.

Zakari replaced Prof. Attahiru Jega who retired as the INEC chairman at the expiration of his five-year tenure.

Speaking at a news conference in Abuja yesterday, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, alleged that the acting INEC chairman “is too close to the Presidency”.

Metuh challenged Mrs. Zakari to state her alleged closeness to the Presidency and one of the governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from one of the states in the Northwest.

Mrs. Zakari, who was one of the national commissioners in INEC until her new appointment, was appointed into that office by former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Metuh said: “The PDP has declared the appointment of Mrs. Amina Zakari as unacceptable and demand that President Buhari changes her immediately.

“The PDP is particularly disturbed by the development in INEC where President Buhari, who knew all along that the immediate-past INEC Chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega would be leaving office by June 30, had to wait for him to handover to one of the national commissioners only to reverse it immediately, thereby injecting bad blood in the commission.

“The situation in INEC since the PDP government reformed and granted it operational autonomy has been peaceful, but Tuesday’s untidy overruling of Prof. Jega and appointing of Mrs. Amina Zakari as acting chairman which, we gathered was influenced by personal relationship with the Presidency and one of the new governors of the North West, ostensibly to pave the way for the APC at the electoral tribunals, has completely eroded public trust in the commission.

“Whereas the PDP recognises the right and powers of the President to appoint the Chairman of INEC and the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), we reject attempts as in the case of the AGF to paint the process as transparent and objective when such was not the case, but brought to question the sincerity and commitment of the present administration to due process.

“In INEC, the PDP states in unequivocal terms that we cannot, as critical stakeholders fold our hands and watch while the Presidency perpetuates actions that diminish the independence of the electoral commission.

“Our reasons include the fact that due process was not observed in the appointment and that Mrs. Zakari has shown in the last elections that she is manifestly bias in favour of the APC. Finally, her appointment is a clear case of nepotism. “

 "It’s a new month and that gives you the opportunity to start off on a good note. So our once water free road has become a River and no one in the hood is bothered. Many Nigerians are really not big on maintenancett The average Nigerian would only get up and do something after his Car gets stuck inside the water. No? So I decided to take it upon myself to sort it out cos at the end of the day, if my Car gets spoilt, my Mechanic will have a feast on top my matter. To cut the long story short, I knew I had to fill this road so I called different suppliers of broken blocks and the different prices I got almost discouraged me. 

Some called 5 tonnes of broken blocks for 20k, others 15k until my friend Elizabeth who is a supplier of building materials gave me one “Oloye’s” number. He gave me the best deal at 9k for 5 tonnes so I placed my order for 10 tonnes at 18, 000 naira. The next picture I will post will be after the trailers have poured the broken blocks inside this my River Road. This is just to show you that you can do your own bit in contributing to your Community and guess what? 

You will benefit from it and others will also benefit. My Comfort is very important to me and I realised that most times it doesn’t cost a fortune to live a comfortable life. Let’s stop waiting for the Government or our neighbours to do everything. If one neighbour has been the one doing something on your street then you better begin to contribute. Look for ways to improve your Communities because at the end of the day, you will enjoy the ammenities you provide and if you don’t provide those ammenities, you will suffer great discomfort. Meet The Man With The Largest Mouth In The World (Photos)

An Indian man vies for the position of the man with the largest mouth in the world and the unbelievable way he stuffs large items in his mouth has called for a massive attention.

His name is Dinesh Upadhyaya and he happens to be a science teacher from Mumbai. At his leisure time, he specialises in stuffing large objects in his mouth to amaze surrounding people and onlookers who reportedly take photographs.

He has already broken 48 records by holding 92 pencils, 79 grapes, 12 lit candles, five golf balls in his mouth. And he is not going to stop, this time he put 1,001 straws into his mouth and hold them for a minute. Mr Upadhyaya, who is nicknamed Maximouth said:

“My dream is to break all possible mouth stuffing records as soon as possible. To enhance my mouth stuffing capacity, I practice yoga and breathing exercises regularly. I also massage my facial muscles and using fingers I try to stretch the opening of my mouth as much as possible.

"I repeat this for up to ten minutes to make my cheek rubber-like. At first I could only fit 50 in my mouth. I went through the most painful experience. But I was confident enough to break this record and soon, with practice, I increased my mouth stretching capacity and was able to fit more than 70 pencils.”

An lthough Mr Upadhyaya undoubtedly has an abnormally large mouth, Francisco Domingo Joaquim from Angola, whose mouth measures 17 cm, holds the official title for the ‘World’s Widest Mouth’ affirmed by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Ex-Mandator, Victor Eshiet Arrested for Fraud By Police and Not Kidnapped - Oritz Williki

 

There has been a controversy about the whereabout of U.S returnee and Nigerian reggae artiste, Victor Eshiet who was before now reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen.  A recent revelation by the former President of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, PMAN< Orits Williki,  through a telephone interview stated that he wasn't kidnapped but instead arrested by men of the Lagos state police command over allegations of fraud last Saturday.

Karrueche Tran says Her Father Is Gay But She Never Told Anybody About It

Chris Brown’s former girlfriend – Karrueche Tran has open up about her father gay relationship.    In an interview with Madame Noire, Karrueche exclusively told the website that one thing she thinks she has never told anybody is that her father is gay.

  According to her, she knew this when she was in elementary school. As she puts it; “I knew something was different and I don’t know how I even knew what gay was, being so young”.

Giving reason why she refused to tell anybody about it, she said she didn’t realize that that was not necessarily normal.

She added that, watching Caitlyn Jenner’s documentary was a bit emotional for her personally due to similarities in their journeys.  Karrueche ended up offering advice to the Jenner girls on how to deal with their father’s transition.

Nigerians React To The Death Sentence In Kano State

9 people have been sentenced to death in Kano state for blaspheming against the Prophet Muhammad and that has drawn a public outcry on social media.

The incident occurred in June, and last Thurday, an Upper Shari’a court sentenced them to death.
The Kano State Sharia Court of Appeal, in a statement, said the nine were found guilty under Sections 110 and 382b of the Sharia Penal Court law of 2000.

Reacting to the judgement, many took to Twitter to appeal for the sentence to be overturned.
The #SaveKanoNine hashtag began to trend, with many calling for higher-placed individuals and bodies such as Amnesty International to interfere.
