Rich Homie Quan Apologizes Again For Lyrics About Rape

Earlier this year, a collection of over a hundred Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug songs leaked onto the internet, allegedly from various studio sessions over the last few years. While there were plenty of gems within the large offering, one song in which Rich Homie Quan described raping a woman was a troubling discovery.
While the rapper Released a statement  on the song, indicating that it was "never intended to be released," fans weren't necessarily ready to accept the apology, and to make matters worse, a second song which also found Quan  threatening a woman with rape surfaced shortly thereafter.
In a new interview with  Billboard today,  Quan made an effort to give a better apology, agreeing that he owes his fans an explanation following the second song making rounds.

"I do not condone or promote rape. I'm not a rapist," he said. "That song was recorded in December 2012. I was young and just rapping. At the time, I had no guidance in my life. I blame it on that. So I apologize once more to my fans."
The controversy does not seem to be affecting the rapper's success however, as his new single, "Flex" is his best performance on the charts yet, and it's still climbing.
"'Flex' was something new for me; it's me stepping out," he told the magazine. "But I'm not a dance song type of person, so I'm not going to say you can expect a lot of those kinds of songs. The album is a lot of narrating; it's just me telling my story, telling it how it is."

Passenger Caught Stealing Money on Lagos - Abuja Flight (Photo)

A passenger, Mr. Ovuironye Mathew Dennis, travelling onboard a 6.45am Aero flight on Monday was caught while stealing about N350, 000 from a luggage belonging to an Austrian, Novotny Anton, another passenger on the flight.

Dennis, 31 with 1.65 height as captured in his temporary driver’s licence and seating on flight seat No. 23C was spotted by a member of the airline’s cabin crew when he removed the Austrian’s bag from the cockpit as if he was changing his seat.

Our correspondent, who was on onboard the flight, said the suspect was also caught with a wrap of marijuana.

The suspect had removed the bag from the cockpit where the Austrian sat, took it to his own seat, giving impression that he was changing his seat and stole a sum of N150, 000 and 500 Euros belonging to the Austrian.

But he ran out of luck when a female cabin crew raised alarm, asked him to remain seated while he was trying to return the bag to the cockpit before the Austrian could suspect any foul play.

“While trying to return the bag I asked him to seat down. But he became uncomfortable before the plane landed and the white man raised alarm that he couldn’t find his bag,” she said.

Immediately the plane landed at the Abuja airport, the Austrian couldn’t find his bag and raised alarm, but the cabin crew member told him to check the bag with Dennis.

After the suspect was stripped Unclad, he told other angry passengers that he mistakenly took the bag in question for his own.
The Austrian later discovered that the sum of N150, 000 and 500 Euros had been taken from the bag.
Other passengers immediately descended on the thieving Dennis.

The money was later found on him alongside a wrap of marijuana.

The suspect told The Nation that he stole the money to take care of his ailing mother.

Lagos Hoodlums Break Graduate’s Skull Open With Hammer, Crushed His Head With Stone -

Some hoodlums on Friday killed a 30-year-old university graduate, Sodiq Shittu, at the Lawani Street in the Mushin area of Lagos State.

Eyewitnesses told PUNCH Metro that the victim’s skull was broken open with a hammer before one of the gang members carried a big stone and crushed his head.

It was learnt that Shittu, whose wife was five months pregnant, graduated from a university in Ogun State.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the incident was the third time in four months that hoodlums would kill a resident of the street.

In March, a truck loader, identified as Gbenga, was shot dead by some suspected cult members for reportedly supporting a political party.

On May 19, our correspondent reported that a tricycle driver, Debo Oturu, who was on a visit to his mother, was attacked and shot dead.

Our correspondent was told that the latest incident happened around 4pm on Friday.

When our correspondent visited the street on Saturday, three gun-wielding policemen were seen patrolling the deserted street.

When PUNCH Metro visited the family house of the victim, his relatives shunned our correspondent.

They also did not allow him into the apartment, saying reports on the spate of killings in the area had made no difference.

While at the door, a woman said, “It is barely 24 hours that he was killed and you are here; for what? We are in no mood to talk, please go.”

Another lady wondered what the family would gain from the publication.

She said, “In March, somebody was killed on the street. Less than three weeks ago, they also murdered another person. And now, they have killed him. What did the government do? Or are they waiting for them to kill all the people in the area before they act?”

PUNCH Metro, however, gathered that Shittu was the first of three children and his mother had died two years earlier.

A source said, “He also has a wife, who is five months pregnant.”

Many of the houses on Lawani Street were shut, while commercial activities were grounded, with few residents peeping from their homes.

A resident, who declined identification, told PUNCH Metro that Shittu had bought a sachet of pure water from a vendor and had gone out in company with two of his friends, Ibrahim and Owusu, when he was attacked.

She said, “Sodiq (Shittu) was a gentle young man; he did not make trouble with people. Around 4pm, he went out of the street with two of his friends when they were attacked.

“Actually, there were two guys, who were monitoring their movement. Immediately they came out, the two spies signalled to their colleagues, who were in a commercial vehicle.

“They were many and they waylaid the three boys on the road. Ibrahim ran and escaped. Owusu was stabbed, but he managed to run inside the street. They, however, got Sodiq and pinned him down.

“One of them brought out a hammer and broke his skull open. They also gouged out his eyes. Then, one of them brought a big stone and dropped it on his head.”

Our correspondent gathered that the hoodlums attempted to set Shittu’s remains on fire, but his friends and neighbours chased them away.

Policemen from the Alakara Division were said to have taken the corpse and deposited it in a mortuary in the Morocco, Somolu area of the state.

Our correspondent saw blood marks on the spot his corpse was laid after he was killed.

Investigations by PUNCH Metro showed that the hoodlums came from Ereko Street, where a gang leader, identified as Toba, had his domain.

They were said to be embroiled in a supremacy clash with residents of Lawani Street over collection of some fees from traders on the street.

The Lawani residents were said to have resisted Toba’s attempts to dominate their area by taking fees from the traders.

Toba, who is facing murder charges together with another notorious warlord, Muda Adigun, was reportedly released on bail by the state high court.

Some residents, who were approached by our correspondent, declined to speak with our correspondent for safety reasons. They said the police and the government had been compromised.

A woman said, “All the kids here know the sounds of gunshots. Our old women are getting hypertensive and nobody seems to care.”

Another resident said, “Fashola (a former Governor of Lagos State) was here and nothing happened. These people have been invited to Alausa (the state secretariat) for peace to reign, yet nothing happened. For more than seven years, this place has been under siege and we are helpless. You better run if you value your life. They can start again any moment from now and we will not harbour you.”

Attempts by our correspondent on Sunday to reach out to Toba and his alleged gang members failed, as their lines were unreachable.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Nwosu, when contacted, said he would get back to our correspondent.

Anti-Rape Bill:You are very wrong -Sen.Anyanwu tells Wole Soyinka

The senator who moved the motion for the recently passed 'Sexual Offences Bill' has responded to professor Wole Soyinka's open letter..The nobel laureate slammed the bill for legalizing sex with 11 year olds. The new bill stipulates life imprisonment for any individual found guilty of rape or sexual intercourse with children under 11 years..

In her response, senator Chris Anyawu writes...
I have read your open letter published in a number newspapers and online papers
No one who read that letter could miss the fury embedded in your words. I know where that fury comes from: moral fiber, good conscience, and love of people. I want to assure you that it was the very same sentiments that drove me to come up with that bill and the same sentiments that led Senators and members to pass it.
As always, your aim was to speak as the voice of reason in our increasingly confused society. I know you meant well. I know you acted out of your deep compassion for Nigerians and fatherly love for the children.
But as I read your open letter, my heart sank because this time, my dear Baba, my dear icon, you are wrong; very wrong.
You have been misled by the misinformation circulated by someone who could not read or comprehend a legal draft; someone who did not have the patience to read through a proposal, see what was recommended and what was finally accepted.
You were misled by someone who deliberately distorted the content of one of the most profound bills ever passed by the Nigerian legislature, scandalized the proponent and the institution for reasons that you and I may not know.
No where in the SEXUAL OFFENCES BILL That I proposed; no where in the bill passed by Senate was it stated that you can defile an 11 years old. No where in the bill passed by the Senate was the age “11 years” mentioned.
Here is what was passed in relation to your area of pre-occupation which is defilement clause 6 (2):
“A person who commits an offence of defilement shall upon conviction be sentenced to imprisonment for life”.
You claimed that the bill re-defined “female adulthood as marital status”. Where in the bill proposed by me and where in the bill passed by Senate did you see adulthood linked to marital status? The extreme distortion of the spirit, intent and even content of this bill leads me to think that you may be talking about an all-together different piece of legislation.
For emphasis, let me state that the bill makes no such linkages as you erroneously stated. I think it may be fear of Sen Yerima that is at play here.
For your information, Senator Yerima and all other Senators who participated in the debate the two times the bill came up on the floor supported it as a vehicle for instituting a stringent law barring all ranges of sexual offences in Nigeria.
They did this because they also have children, wives, daughters, even mothers and cannot afford to leave them in the current state where abuses are rewarded with a slap on the wrist of the perpetrators because our laws are outdated, without strong in-built deterrence and mechanisms for monitoring and control are absent.
This is just another case of people demonizing what is clearly in the public good because of deeply-set negative pre-dispositions towards individuals in an institution. By your strong advocacy against the bill, you have unwittingly stamped your feet in favor of maintaining the statusquo.
Where we are now..the statusquo.. is a world in which a six year old child is raped to death and then set ablaze. Where we are now is a place where a father rapes his 3 year old boys repeatedly and the mother weeps at night and cannot speak out out of shame and fear of her life.
Where we are now is a place where young Cynthia in her struggles for self employment ran into a gang who drugged her, raped and murdered her. Where we are now is a place where foreigners come for tourism and turn children into their objects of tourism.
With all due respect Sir, I want to express my deep disappointment with your hastiness in flowing with the mob on this matter. I blame your press officers. I think they should have advised caution. You have known me since the 1990’s. There is no way you could have sent fellers and I would not jump into the next flight to answer you.
Infact, a mere telephone call could have dispensed with the matter. If you had even asked someone to get you a copy of the Votes and Proceedings of Senate for that day which published the exact words in the legislation passed, you would have spared yourself the time and emotions spent over what is clear mischief circulated through the web.
The people who started it all are hate-mongers. The merely took advantage of the negative public feelings they have built up against the legislature. You have no business with such people Sir.
I am sure in the most inner recesses of your mind you know I cannot in anyway be associated with any anti-people law. Nothing in my personal history, professional antecedents or even the hard work I did to push through pro-people legislations in Senate, could lead anyone to think of me as capable of working against children, the very people I fought for over the course of my 8 years in Senate. The Sexual Offences bill is only one of many I did.
I also proposed the Occupational Safety and Health bill protecting workers in virtually all sectors of the economy from hazards at work. The only group excluded are those in the oil and gas sectors who have been extensively provided for in the PIB.
There was no “accident” as you call it involved in this legislation. Neither was there an error in judgement. The bill has been fabricated to provide a strong deterrence against abuses.
When implemented, It will mitigate the private sufferings of parents; reduce their fear of what happens in their absence to their children at school, in the play grounds, in the neighborhoods, even in religious spaces.
Nigeria today is not a safe place for children; not a safe place for girls; not a safe place for small boys; and it is not a safe place either for old women.
This legislation it proposes consigns punishments for abhorrent crimes such as we are seeing in our country today. It even covers crimes yet to arrive our shores.
Under this bill, pedophiles will be put away for life not made rock stars as we do today. This bill will bring sanity to our society. It will make Nigeria a better place for all. I suspect that some of those fighting against the bill are fixating on the short title. Its long title shows what it is: a sexual offences prevention bill; a tough deterrence to crime.
I want you to take time and read the final copy of the bill. You will be proud. You will realize that good things can come from Nigeria and Nigerians. It is not only legislations initiated by outsiders and handed to us locals to push for their passage that should be deemed as good for us.
By passing that bill, National Assembly has kept faith with the people of Nigeria. It has provided the cover of protection under which Nigerian children can live normal lives of fulfillment without fear.
By your robust advocacy against the bill preventing sexual abuses of children, you foreclose the future of children in this society.
But if I read you correctly, I have no doubt that you will reverse yourself on this once you have the correct information. This is why I have written youthis letter. You have made your first “imposition” on Mr. President based on your understanding of the false information circulated by the very offenders you despise.
I plead with you as a man who has been found to be a great man of honor and bestowed with the highest literary honor in the world to reconsider.
Let me on behalf of the innumerable victims of abuse in Nigeria; let me invoke the spirit of Cynthia who fell victim in Lagos; and let me plead on behalf of the many wives and husbands deliberately infected with HIV by their partners whose suffering impelled this bill, that you reverse your instruction to Mr. President.
The President of the Federal Republic looks to old sages like you for positive direction. That was what you intended to give him.
But now that you know the truth, for the sake of your long established reputation and known love for Nigeria, turn it around and urge Mr. President to sign this bill that will protect our people, restore sanity to society and make Nigeria a better place for all.
I remain your loyal admirer and sister,
Sen Chris Anyanwu.

Chris Brown & Karrueche Tran Go Back-And-Forth On Instagram

Chris Brown can't seem to stay away from social media, specifically, airing out his thoughts on personal matters via the public platform. After getting into an argument with formal girlfriend karrueche Tran in real life they've since taken their arguments to social media. This is one incident in a long string of strange social media behavior from Brown, who last week caught flack for posting  Photoshopped image of himself in a car with Suge Knight and Tupac,  as well as a meme about Caitlyn Jenner.
This time, Breezy decided to call out Karrueche for continuing to give interviews about their relationship in a comment on her Instagram page-- referring to one she did with Access Hollywood. Instead, the singer said she should be focusing on her own career. "Honestly, it’s so fucking pointless to keep doing interviews about me. Talk about your career…If there is no more relationship then u shouldn’t be doing fucking interviews with people," he wrote.
Karrueche responded to the comment with a  full instagram post of her own, bringing up the fact that Brown's done similar interviews. "First off @chrisbrownofficial you just did an interview w Ryan Seacrest in which you spoke about me," she wrote on Instagram. "My interview w Access Hollywood was not entirely about you.. they asked a question and as a mature adult I answered. I'm not gonna shy away from something that I lived through. I'm talking about my life and experiences. I'm not speaking on you or bashing you (like I easily could). Don't be mad at me because our relationship is over due to your lack of loyalty. You know what's weak?? You forcing yourself into my car.. my broken window.. blowing up my phone.. trying to shower me w gifts.. Man the fuck up and change the bs in your life like I've told you several times. Since you want to hear about my career - check out @vanityseries every Thursday on StyleHaul.com.. Emmy winning @thebaytheseries this Sept and 3 Headed Shark Attack on SyFy next month. Best of luck to you and beautiful Royalty."
Brown's response to this was more so an apology, as he wrote on an Instagram post, "I'm eternally thankful for you being in a part of my life. I've learned so much from you. I wish u nothing but happiness and the best. @karrueche all I was doing was trying to fight for the woman I love. ThanxI learned a lot."
