The showbiz industry with the curious exception of one particular person practically relocated to Benin, capital of Edo State for the engagement ceremony between the duo of Gbenro Ajibade and Osas Ighodaro last weekend.
Present at the very colourful ceremony were a cross section of celebrities drawn from nollywood as well as comedy and music industry.
But the absence of the groom’s best buddy, Uti Nwachukwu is still being talked about in showbiz circuit.
You see, Uti and Gbenro are often confused for each other because of their striking resemblance...they have also carved a reputation as one of the few celebrity Best Friends Forever (BFF) in the industry.
So you could imagine our surprise when he failed to show up in Benin last weekend.
When asked about his absence from the ceremony by Reporters on Wednesday at the Industry Night gig celebrity JJC, Uti’s reaction was dramatic. Infuriated by the question, he sarcastically queried to his questioner, “‘what happened in Benin?”
The break down of communication between Gbenro and Uti was not hidden to some in the industry but the latter’s absence at the wedding ceremony further accentuated the difference between the two friends.
Although the cause of the bitter feud is not known however, Uti was spotted in April with the couple at AY Live. Their feud may be unconnected to the friendship triangle that also include actor, Alexx Ekubo who was also absent from the wedding.
